Beware of liberal, Jewish summer camps?

n 1971, then-President richard nixon was convinced that too many Jews held high-ranking posts in the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). He dispatched an aide, Fred Malek, to count the Jews and, thanks to nixon's paranoia, some were subsequently demoted.
Four decades later, the right apparently hasn't gotten over these concerns. President Obama nominated Erica Groshen in February to head the BLS, which wouldn't be especially interesting were it not for conservatives' newfound interest in the summer camp Groshen's kids attended. Tucker Carlson's Daily Caller has what it might call a "story" on this.
A forthcoming report from the conservative organization Americans for Limited Government (ALG) details how President Barack Obama's nominee to head the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) sent her children to a politically left-wing Jewish summer camp with Communist roots.
Obama nominated Erica Groshen to be the BLS commissioner in February, but this new report - obtained by The Daily Caller and set to be released on Thursday - reveals for the first time publicly that she sent her children to Camp Kinderland. The ALG report reveals how "Groshen and her husband are listed in the Kinderland Directory 2011-2012, which indicates that they sent children to the camp during the 1990s and 2000s."
"Camp Kinderland was founded in the 1923 as a place for the children of radical Jewish activists," the report continues. According to New York University, some of the camp's founders were "activists in the Communist Party," and all "were associated with the left wing of the Workermen's Circle."

President Trump's recent Tweets expressing displeasure with the Federal Reserve's (minor) interest rate increases led to accusations that President Trump is undermining the Federal Reserve's independence. But, the critics ignore the fact that Federal Reserve "independence" is one of the great myths of American politics.
When it comes to intimidating the Federal Reserve, President Trump pales in comparison to President Lyndon Johnson. After the Federal Reserve increased interest rates in 1965, President Johnson summoned then-Fed Chairman William McChesney Martin to Johnson's Texas ranch where Johnson shoved him against the wall. Physically assaulting the Fed chairman is probably a greater threat to Federal Reserve independence than questioning the Fed's policies on Twitter.
While Johnson is an extreme example, history is full of cases where presidents pressured the Federal Reserve to adopt policies compatible with the presidents' agendas - and helpful to their reelection campaigns. Presidents have been pressuring the Fed since its creation. President Warren Harding called on the Fed to lower rates. richard nixon was caught on tape joking with then-Fed chair Arthur Burns about Fed independence. And Lloyd Bentsen, President Bill Clinton's first Treasury secretary, bragged about a "gentleman's agreement" with then-Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan.
President Trump's call for low interest rates contradicts Trump's earlier correct criticism of the Fed's low interest rate policy as harming middle-class Americans. Low rates can harm the middle class, but they also benefit spend-and-borrow politicians and their favorite special interests by lowering the federal government's borrowing costs. Significant rate increases could make it impossible for the government to service its existing debt, thus making it difficult for President Trump and Congress to continue increasing welfare and warfare spending.
President Trump will have a long-lasting impact on monetary policy. Two of the three sitting members of the Fed's board were appointed by President Trump. Two more of Trump's nominees are pending in the Senate. The nomination of economist Marvin Goodfriend may be in jeopardy because Goodfriend advocates "negative interest rates," which is a Federal Reserve-imposed tax on savings. If Goodfriend is defeated, President Trump can just nominate another candidate. President Trump will also be able to nominate two other board members. Therefore, by the end of his first term, President Trump could appoint six of the Federal Reserve's seven board members.
The specter of a Federal Reserve Board dominated by Trump appointees should cause some to rethink the wisdom of allowing a secretive central bank to exercise near-monopoly control over monetary policy. Fear of the havoc a Trumpian Fed could cause may even lead some to support the Audit the Fed legislation and the growing movement to allow Americans to "exit" the Federal Reserve System by using alternatives to fiat money, such as cryptocurrencies and gold.
Given the Federal Reserve's power to help or hinder a president's economic agenda and reelection prospects, it is no surprise that presidents try to influence Fed policy. But, instead of worrying about protecting the Fed from President Trump, we should all worry about protecting the American people from the Fed. The first step is passing the Audit the Fed bill, which Congress should do before adjourning to hit the campaign trail. This will let the people know the full truth about America's monetary policy. Auditing, then ending, the Fed is key to permanently draining the welfare-warfare swamp.

I limited the first section to only show Americans and only those who are not members of the Roman Catholic clergy. I got the identity of the less famous ones from Wikipedia. I figured everybody should know the more famous names and so I didn't include a description for them.

We need to talk about a forbidden subject: the legitimacy of the current president.
There's been a code of silence around President Donald Trump's shady victory in 2016. It's one of those tiptoe-around-it things that the American family just doesn't talk about. And with good reason. Whatever your politics, it's perilous to question the soundness of an American election.
Raising the question of Trump's legitimacy risks detonating a full-blown crisis of faith - kindling distrust not just in Trump, but also in the system that installed him.
But fear of facing the legitimacy question has not stopped Americans from harboring profound doubts, if only "deep down in places you don't talk about at parties," in Aaron Sorkin's phrasing from "A Few Good Men."
As more and more facts about Trump's incongruous victory emerges, the doubts gnaw harder - and grow harder to ignore.
A nation devoted to majority rule has a minority president. Who squeaked into office on an electoral college technicality. Against most data projections. Using dark money. Using voter suppression. Using Russian disinformation.

And, most chilling of all, with a massive assist from the Russian military, which not only hacked the Democrats, but also hacked voting software and a voting-system manufacturer.
Some people were motivated to vote for Trump because they believed Russian lies about Hillary Clinton's health or email. But at least they got to cast their votes, and have them counted.
Others, many who planned to vote against Trump, were kept from the ballot entirely. In Wisconsin, as Mother Jones has reported, discriminatory ID laws prevented 45,000 eligible voters from participating in the election, including 23,000 in two heavily Democratic counties. Trump won Wisconsin by 22,000 votes.
The attorney general of Wisconsin, Brad Schimel, even boasted recently that Trump won Wisconsin chiefly because tens of thousands of eligible voters were turned away.
We've long known that Russian hackers attempted to break into the nation's voter databases. But NBC reported this year that they succeeded. Senior intelligence officials said that Russia compromised seven states, including California, Florida, Illinois and Texas.
There are other good reasons to ask questions about the election. In Florida, exit polls on election day had Clinton winning by 1.3 % of the vote. When the votes were tallied, Trump beat her by 1.2%.
None of this data is conclusive. But it absolutely does not suggest that American citizens should shut up, forget it, and will away all the evidence that something's rotten in our electoral system. If it didn't hurt your candidate this time, next time it might.
When, in 1974, President Gerald Ford pardoned former President richard nixon, he sounded noble. He claimed that to put nixon on trial would cost the nation its newfound "tranquility." Why rock the boat by bringing nixon, who'd already been subject to so much "degradation," to trial?
Why indeed. Ford was arguing for repression, when oh, say, maybe justice might have been the surer route to real tranquility.
He was telling the nation what abuser apologists tell victims. Don't press charges. Think of all your abuser has suffered. It's classier to move on.
Likewise, for years, Justice Antonin Scalia insisted that Americans must move on from Bush vs. Gore, the highly unusual 2000 Supreme Court decision that gave the presidency to George W. Bush. Scalia would get testy when asked questions, snapping at audiences: "Come on, get over it."
Bush vs. Gore became the case that must not be named. Don't interrupt Scalia's tranquility.
Those who kept asking were also called bad sports, still sulking about the election. A protester around the time of the Supreme Court decision mocked those who'd voted the Gore-Lieberman ticket using Gore's campaign logo. It read: "Sore Loserman."

HRC when she was an attorney working on the Watergate investigation, she was fired by her supervisor for "lying, unethical behavior."
Jerry Zeifman, who said he is a lifelong Democrat, was a supervisor for 27-year-old Hillary Rodham on the committee. When the investigation was complete, Zeifman said he fired Hillary and refused to give her a recommendation.
"Because she was a liar," Zeifman said. "She was an unethical, dishonest lawyer. She conspired to violate the Constitution, the rules of the House, the rules of the committee and the rules of confidentiality.

How could a 27-year-old House staff member do all that? She couldn't do it by herself, but Zeifman said she was one of several individuals - including Marshall, special counsel John Doar and senior associate special counsel (and future Clinton White House Counsel) Bernard Nussbaum - who engaged in a seemingly implausible scheme to deny richard nixon the right to counsel during the investigation.
Why would they want to do that? Because, according to Zeifman, they feared putting Watergate break-in mastermind E. Howard Hunt on the stand to be cross-examined by counsel to the president. Hunt, Zeifman said, had the goods on nefarious activities in the Kennedy Administration that would have made Watergate look like a day at the beach - including Kennedy's purported complicity in the attempted assassination of Fidel Castro.
The actions of Hillary and her cohorts went directly against the judgment of top Democrats, up to and including then-House Majority Leader Tip O'Neill, that nixon clearly had the right to counsel. Zeifman says that Hillary, along with Marshall, Nussbaum and Doar, was determined to gain enough votes on the Judiciary Committee to change House rules and deny counsel to nixon. And in order to pull this off, Zeifman says Hillary wrote a fraudulent legal brief, and confiscated public documents to hide her deception.
The brief involved precedent for representation by counsel during an impeachment proceeding. When Hillary endeavored to write a legal brief arguing there is no right to representation by counsel during an impeachment proceeding, Zeifman says, he told Hillary about the case of Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas, who faced an impeachment attempt in 1970.
"As soon as the impeachment resolutions were introduced by (then-House Minority Leader Gerald) Ford, and they were referred to the House Judiciary Committee, the first thing Douglas did was hire himself a lawyer," Zeifman said.
The Judiciary Committee allowed Douglas to keep counsel, thus establishing the precedent. Zeifman says he told Hillary that all the documents establishing this fact were in the Judiciary Committee's public files. So what did Hillary do?
"Hillary then removed all the Douglas files to the offices where she was located, which at that time was secured and inaccessible to the public," Zeifman said. Hillary then proceeded to write a legal brief arguing there was no precedent for the right to representation by counsel during an impeachment proceeding - as if the Douglas case had never occurred.
The brief was so fraudulent and ridiculous, Zeifman believes Hillary would have been disbarred if she had submitted it to a judge.??Zeifman says that if Hillary, Marshall, Nussbaum and Doar had succeeded, members of the House Judiciary Committee would have also been denied the right to cross-examine witnesses, and denied the opportunity to even participate in the drafting of articles of impeachment against nixon.??Of course, nixon's resignation rendered the entire issue moot, ending Hillary's career on the Judiciary Committee staff in a most undistinguished manner. Zeifman says he was urged by top committee members to keep a diary of everything that was happening. He did so, and still has the diary if anyone wants to check the veracity of his story. Certainly, he could not have known in 1974 that diary entries about a young lawyer named Hillary Rodham would be of interest to anyone 34 years later.

John Edgar Hoover (January 1, 1895 - May 2, 1972)
was an American law enforcement administrator and the first Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of the United States. He was appointed as the director of the Bureau of Investigation - the FBI's predecessor - in 1924 and was instrumental in founding the FBI in 1935, where he remained director until his death in 1972 at the age of 77. Later in life and after his death, Hoover became a controversial figure as evidence of his secretive abuses of power began to surface. AP/WPRI - The Rhode Island Senate has passed a bill that would require presidential and vice presidential candidates to file five years' worth of tax returns in order to appear on the state's ballots.
The Senate voted 33-3 to pass the measure. A House version has been held in a committee.
Senate spokesman Greg Pare says if the bill becomes law, President Donald Trump wouldn't appear on a future ballot unless he filed his returns.
Democratic Sen. Gayle Goldin, who sponsored the bill, did not explicitly mention Trump in vouching for the policy on the Senate floor. She did say that "this president" was the first since richard nixon to not voluntarily release his tax returns.
Goldin says the tax returns contain essential information about conflicts of interest that is not otherwise available to the public.
Independent gubernatorial candidate Joe Trillo, who served as chairman of Trump's campaign in Rhode Island in 2016, criticized the Senate bill earlier this week as "one of the most absurd things I've ever heard of." He added that Goldin should be "ashamed" of the measure.

In fact, the site may have helped link D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty to pop-star Rihanna. Mayor Fenty learned of the possible connection after his father Phil found the ship manifest showing the Mayor's great-grandfather's immigration from Barbados and Panama in 1923 to New York's Ellis Island.
Meanwhile, a search of Beyonce Knowles uncovered her Presidential connections. Beyonce has the same 9th great-grandfather, Hans Heinrich Hirtzel, born in Switzerland in 1619, as President George W. Bush making them tenth cousins once removed and tenth cousins with Former President George H.W. Bush.
President Bush is also related to another pop-superstar, Justin Timberlake. They are 9th cousins once removed.

FDR takes United States off gold standard
On June 5, 1933, the United States went off the gold standard, a monetary system in which currency is backed by gold, when Congress enacted a joint resolution nullifying the right of creditors to demand payment in gold. The United States had been on a gold standard since 1879, except for an embargo on gold exports during World War I, but bank failures during the Great Depression of the 1930s frightened the public into hoarding gold, making the policy untenable.
Soon after taking office in March 1933, Roosevelt declared a nationwide bank moratorium in order to prevent a run on the banks by consumers lacking confidence in the economy. He also forbade banks to pay out gold or to export it. According to Keynesian economic theory, one of the best ways to fight off an economic downturn is to inflate the money supply. And increasing the amount of gold held by the Federal Reserve would in turn increase its power to inflate the money supply. Facing similar pressures, Britain had dropped the gold standard in 1931, and Roosevelt had taken note.
On April 5, 1933, Roosevelt ordered all gold coins and gold certificates in denominations of more than $100 turned in for other money. It required all persons to deliver all gold coin, gold bullion and gold certificates owned by them to the Federal Reserve by May 1 for the set price of $20.67 per ounce. By May 10, the government had taken in $300 million of gold coin and $470 million of gold certificates. Two months later, a joint resolution of Congress abrogated the gold clauses in many public and private obligations that required the debtor to repay the creditor in gold dollars of the same weight and fineness as those borrowed. In 1934, the government price of gold was increased to $35 per ounce, effectively increasing the gold on the Federal Reserve's balance sheets by 69 percent. This increase in assets allowed the Federal Reserve to further inflate the money supply.
The government held the $35 per ounce price until August 15, 1971, when President richard nixon announced that the United States would no longer convert dollars to gold at a fixed value, thus completely abandoning the gold standard. In 1974, President Gerald Ford signed legislation that permitted Americans again to own gold bullion.

He also forbade banks to pay out gold or to export it. According to Keynesian economic theory, one of the best ways to fight off an economic downturn is to inflate the money supply. And increasing the amount of gold held by the Federal Reserve would in turn increase its power to inflate the money supply. Facing similar pressures, Britain had dropped the gold standard in 1931, and Roosevelt had taken note.

It required all persons to deliver all gold coin, gold bullion and gold certificates owned by them to the Federal Reserve by May 1 for the set price of $20.67 per ounce. By May 10, the government had taken in $300 million of gold coin and $470 million of gold certificates. Two months later, a joint resolution of Congress abrogated the gold clauses in many public and private obligations that required the debtor to repay the creditor in gold dollars of the same weight and fineness as those borrowed. In 1934, the government price of gold was increased to $35 per ounce, effectively increasing the gold on the Federal Reserve's balance sheets by 69 percent. This increase in assets allowed the Federal Reserve to further inflate the money supply.
The government held the $35 per ounce price until August 15, 1971, when President richard nixon announced that the United States would no longer convert dollars to gold at a fixed value, thus completely abandoning the gold standard. In 1974, President Gerald Ford signed legislation that permitted Americans again to own gold bullion.

Operation 40
Operation 40 was a CIA-sponsored hit squad of the 1960s, composed mostly of Cubans. It was active in the United States and the Caribbean (including Cuba), Central America, and Mexico. Many researchers, including Daniel Hopsicker and Mark Gorton, have claimed that many Operation 40 members were involved in the JFK Assassination.Their names do continue to pop up in deep events decades later, from the Watergate Coup to assassinations such as those of John Lennon and Adelino Amaro da Costa.
The group was officially non-existant for many years. Recently however the CIA has admitted that Operation 40 existed, but refuses to give details; a 2014 FOIA request to the CIA returned 2 documents with a total of just 6 pages.
On 11 December 1959, following the Cuban Revolution of January 1959, Colonel J.C. King, chief of the CIA's Western Hemisphere Division, sent a confidential memorandum to CIA director Allen W. Dulles. King argued that in Cuba there existed a "far-left dictatorship, which if allowed to remain will encourage similar actions against U.S. holdings in other Latin American countries." As a result of this memorandum, Dulles established a ZR/RIFLE unit named Operation 40, from the "Group of 40" of the National Security Council group that followed Cuba. It was created by US President Dwight D. Eisenhower in March 1960, after the January 1959 Cuban Revolution, and was presided over by Vice-president richard nixon.
Fabian Escalante writes in The Secret War: CIA Covert Operations Against Cuba, 1959-62 that Jack Alston Crichton and George H. W. Bush were active in raising funds for Operation 40.
Tracy Barnes functioned as operating office of the Cuban Task Force. He called a meeting on 18 January 1960, in his temporary office near the Lincoln Memorial. Those attending included David Atlee Phillips, Jacob 'Jake' Esterline, E. Howard Hunt, and 'Frank Bender' (an alias of Gerry Droller), all of the CIA.[Barnes, Phillips, Esterline, Hunt, David Sánchez Morales and others had previously worked together in the 1954 overthrow of Jacobo Arbenz in Guatemala, organized by the CIA under the code-name Operation PBSUCCESS.
On 17 March 1960, President Eisenhower signed a National Security Council directive on the anti-Cuban covert action program authorizing the CIA to organize, train, and equip Cuban refugees as a guerrilla force to overthrow the government of Cuban prime minister Fidel Castro.
The group recruited former Batista-regime intelligence officers and mob henchmen such as Eladio del Valle and Rolando Masferrer, soldiers of fortune such as Frank Sturgis, and CIA case officers such as Col. Deep state operative who has named a lot of names, espceially in the area of CIA drug trafficking and the Iran-Contra deal.
Dois Gene "Chip" Tatum claims to have been an assassin for George H. W. Bush who quit in 1992 after Bush ordered him to "neutralize" Ross Perot. He became active as a whistleblower in 1995 after being charged with treason, which the state blamed on a data error.
By his own account, Chip Tatum was a helicopter pilot for the United States Army from 1982 to 1986, during which time he flew missions in Central America and also from Ft Campbell, Kentucky. From 1986 to 1992 he was an agent for the Central Intelligence Agency, operating under a deep-cover assignment.
Tatum claimed to have participated in the attack on Cambodia's main airport in Phnom Penh on January 22, 1971 as part of an American special forces team under orders from richard nixon, Henry Kissinger and Alexander Haig. According to Tatum's account, his team brought in Vietcong prisoners to kill and leave behind for the Cambodians to find.
Someone in the chain of command had ordered their Montagnard guides to kill the team members after the mission, but the team avoided the trap. Upon learning of their survival, their commanding officer, a Colonel Brown, declared them to be hostiles and ordered a napalm attack on their position.

This group consisted of representatives of the following: Director of Central Intelligence, Department of Defense, FBI, NSC staff and others as required.
Tatum explained that, "The purpose of TIWG is to provide SSG with direct operational support. TIWG then recommended to the President that a Terrorism Task Force be formed and chaired by the head of SSG (the Vice President). Reagan approved NSDD-138 in April 1984, which extended TIWG's arm and ability to form sub-groups. As a result of NSDD-138 was the formation of the Operations Sub-Group (OSG). The Sub-Group was a select NSC-DoD-CIA-FBI-foreign intelligence agency which operated so as to bypass the regular operations of intelligence/military/law-enforcement agencies. OSG was formed in February 1986."

Defending spies in the Trump campaign is the height of liberal hypocrisy
President Trump dubbed his unsubstantiated claim that a shadowy FBI informant was embedded in his 2016 campaign "SPYGATE."
"Look how things have turned around on the Criminal Deep State. They go after Phony Collusion with Russia, a made up Scam, and end up getting caught in a major SPY scandal the likes of which this country may never have seen before!," he wrote on Twitter.
"What goes around, comes around!," he said, adding: "SPYGATE could be one of the biggest political scandals in history!"
The president in his tweets continued pressing his claims that the FBI embedded an informant in his campaign during the Obama administration for political purposes - an allegation which he said Tuesday would "be a disgrace to the country" if it turned out to be true.
James Clapper, who was the director of national intelligence from 2010 to 2017, said the informant who wasn't working for the campaign was trying to find out what the Russians were up to.
"They were spying on, a term I don't particularly like, but on what the Russians were doing," Clapper said on ABC's "The View." "Trying to understand were the Russians infiltrating, trying to gain access, trying to gain leverage or influence, which is what they do."
Asked by host Joy Behar if Trump should be happy that the FBI was looking out for Russian involvement in the election, Clapper said, "He should be."
Trump reacted to Clapper's comments in a tweet on Wednesday, saying: "No, James Clapper, I am not happy."
Some Republicans in the House are calling for another special counsel to be named to investigate special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe and for the informant to be identified.
The person, Cambridge University professor Stefan Halper, has already been outed in multiple news reports.
Halper, 73, is a veteran of past Republican presidential administrations going back to President richard nixon and has had contracts with the Defense Department since 2012, the Washington Post reported on Tuesday.
The newspaper said Halper in the summer of 2016 reached out to three Trump campaign advisers for discussions about foreign policy.
Later that year, he began working for a secret informant for the FBI, which was probing Russian tampering in the campaign.
Halper did not comment for the article.
The Department of Justice said it would expand the probe already under way by the agency's inspector general to examine the FBI's involvement in the Trump campaign.
A number of GOP lawmakers and US intelligence officials will meet Thursday to review classified information about the source.
While the president and his allies in the Republican Party claim that the Obama administration's FBI tried to sway the election in favor of Hillary Clinton, Trump did win the White House.
In March 2017, then-FBI Director James Comey first publicly announced the agency was investigating Russia's involvement in the 2016 election and any connection to Trump campaign associates.
The FBI at the same time was carrying out a very public investigation of Clinton's emails, leading Comey to announce just 11 days before election day that they were reopening the probe after emails were found on the laptop of Anthony Weiner, the now-estranged husband of longtime Clinton aide Huma Abedin.

Documents Reveal the Complex Legacy of James Angleton, CIA Counterintelligence Chief and Godfather of Mass Surveillance
eteran CIA officer Cleveland Cram was nearing the end of his career in 1978, when his superiors in the agency's directorate of operations handed him a sensitive assignment: Write a history of the agency's Counterintelligence Staff. Cram, then 61, was well qualified for the task. He had a master's and Ph.D. in European History from Harvard. He had served two decades in the clandestine service, including nine years as deputy chief of the CIA's station in London. He knew the senior officialdom of MI-5 and MI-6, the British equivalents of the FBI and CIA, the agency's closest partners in countering the KGB, the Soviet Union's effective and ruthless intelligence service.
Cram was assigned to investigate a debacle. The Counterintelligence Staff, created in 1954, had been headed for 20 years by James Jesus Angleton, a legendary spy who deployed the techniques of literary criticism learned at Yale to find deep patterns and hidden meanings in the records of KGB operations against the West. But Angleton was also a dogmatic and conspiratorial operator whose idiosyncratic theories paralyzed the agency's operations against the Soviet Union at the height of the Cold War, and whose domestic surveillance operations targeting American dissidents had discredited the CIA in the court of public opinion.
In December 1974, CIA Director William Colby fired Angleton after the New York Times revealed the then-unknown counterintelligence chief had overseen a massive program to spy on Americans involved in anti-war and black nationalist movements, a violation of the CIA's charter. Coming four months after the resignation of richard nixon, Angleton's fall was the denouement of the Watergate scandal, propelling Congress to probe the CIA for the first time. A Senate investigation, headed by Sen. Frank Church, exposed a series of other abuses: assassination conspiracies, unauthorized mail opening, collaboration with human rights abusers, infiltration of news organizations, and the MKULTRA mind-control experiments to develop drugs for use in espionage.
The exposure of Angleton's operations set off a political avalanche that engulfed the agency in 1975 and after. The post-Watergate Congress established the House and Senate intelligence committees to oversee covert operations. The passage of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act required the CIA to obtain warrants to spy on Americans. And for the first time since 1947, the agency's annual appropriation was slashed.
Cram's mission - and he chose to accept it - was to soberly answer the questions that senior CIA officials were asking in their private moments: What in the name of God and national security had Jim Angleton been doing when he ran the Counterintelligence Staff from 1954 to 1974? Did his operations serve the agency's mission? Did they serve the country?
Cram's task in 1978 was to investigate a covert career that culminated in a disastrous mole hunt. Like Smiley, Cram was a connoisseur of files, their connections and implications, their deceptions and omissions. Like Smiley, he embarked on a Cold War espionage odyssey that would fill more than a few volumes.

Yes, I listened to him for a few years, before shill George Noory took over the show. I used to like him, but I have heard him say too many things that steer the narrative in the wrong way!
Two examples:
1. Said that he believes the Mob was solely responsible for JFK's assassination. Sure, they were involved in it, but GHWB helped organize it as part of the CIA, and is maybe the only American who was an adult at the time, who "doesn't remember where he was, when JFK was assassinated," but he remembered that he wasn't in Dallas. 2. Said he doesn't believe that anyone in the U.S. Government was involved in 9-11. "They may have known it was coming and let it happen, but weren't a part of it." Wouldn't that mean they were involved, as accessories before the fact, since they didn't do anything to stop it or warn the people who died in the buildings?

2) Congress has a two-step program for spending money. Technically, the President doesn't spend anything.
3) First, there is the "Authorization" process. The House, then the Senate . . .
3) contd: . . . AUTHORIZE every department and agency to spend up to a certain amount of money. Think of this as giving your kid permission to spend the money in his piggy bank.
4) The APPROPRIATIONS process then actually allocates how much of that authorized $ can be spent.
5) So, you "authorize" your kid to spend $10 . . . but there is nothing in the piggy bank to spend. Then you put in $5 that you have "appropriated." He still can only spend $5, because that's all that has been appropriated.
6) Departments turn in their budgets yearly.
6) contd. Typically, Congress does what's called "baseline budgeting," wherein they assume a department starts with LAST year's budget #s, and Congress works up from there. (another reason for constant deficits).
7) "Zero-based" budgeting would require a dept be reviewed . . .
7) contd. . . . annually with new hearings. Actually, as much as we hate "baseline," it would be almost impossible to run any government of any size on "zero." But a five-year zeroing out would be reasonable.
8) So, DoD gets its budget:

DoD CANNOT willy-nilly just "move" money from tanks to planes. That hasn't been AUTHORIZED.
9) You say to your kid, "Sure, spend $5 on a movie ticket." But you didn't authorize spending $5 on candy.
10) Sometimes, authorization/appropriation is conditional upon meeting conditions set by Congress. Don't meet the conditions? Don't get the money.
11) This COULD be the basis for, if Congress had a spine the basis to deny virtually ALL federal funding to "sanctuary cities."
12) It has been the basis on which the feds get involved in ALL education: don't accept our rules on transgenders? No $$.
13) Anyway, the point is, Trump CANNOT simply "take" money from DoD and apply it to the Wall. The Army Corps of Engineers is funded, and they have

14) Further, richard nixon thought he had a way to contain spending on what he thought was extravagant stuff in 1973. He "impounded" the AUTHORIZED and APPROPRIATED money, but wouldn't spend it.

Individual suspicion and probable cause were greatly watered down. Warrants became rubber-stamped absurdities issued upon request by the secret FISA courts. Government prosecutors simply presented their one-side cases to government judges - eliminating the protective shield of an adversarial proceeding, as required by the Constitution in all criminal proceedings."

Project MKUltra: The CIA Used Mind Control to Turn Children into "Sex Kittens". MKUltra was a secret program led by the CIA during the Cold War. Also known as Project Monarch, it involved experiments enacted on unknowing participants, many of whom were children. Children were subjected to mind altering drugs so that their behavior could be controlled. Many were taught how to be seductive, referred to by researchers as sex kittens.
Recent documents released by the CIA have confirmed that Project MKUltra was a secret program designed to control children through behavioral engineering. Children were exposed to sexual abuse, forced to take LSD, and participated in violent tasks. Covert and unofficially sanctioned by the CIA, Project MKUltra was one of the most controversial and unethical programs of all time. What could researchers and operatives possibly been trying to accomplish by using young children to carry out heinous experiments?
MKUltra MKUltra was a top-secret program carried out by the CIA during the Cold War. It largely focused on mind control and brainwashing. Some of MKUltra's subjects were adults, but many were children.
Project Monarch. Different tactics were used to brainwash children. Many were subjected to physical and sexual abuse. Most, if not all, were unknowingly given mind-altering drugs.
richard Helms. Former CIA agent richard Helms (pictured with richard nixon). Helms founded Project MKUltra in the 1950s. The psychological torture inflicted upon children was deemed to be acceptable if the ends justified the means.
LSD. Many people have seen the videos of the soldiers who were unknowingly given LSD. They responded to the drug in various ways, with some acting gleeful and delighted and others responding to the hallucinations with sheer terror. These experiments were carried out under the umbrella of MKUltra.
Behavioral conditioning. Children were taught how to be seductive. The purpose of some experiments was to turn the youths into sex kittens. Apparently, expecting children to engage in sexual contact with adults in order to extract information was acceptable to some researchers.
Mind control. Mind control is explored in The Manchurian Candidate. Those subjected to MKUltra were conditioned to have certain responses triggered by various stimuli. The responses were completely out of their control.
The Cold War. Supposedly, part of the motivation behind Project MKUltra was to keep an edge over enemies of the United States. It was believed that US prisoners of war were being brainwashed in Soviet and Chinese prisons. Under psychological duress, the prisoners might divulge classified information to their captors.
Marilyn. Though it has never been officially confirmed, several famous celebrities are rumored to have been subjected to MKUltra's brainwashing experiments. The most famous is Marilyn Monroe, whose highly sexual persona has been attributed to psychological conditioning. Others linked to MKUltra include Ken Kesey and Ted Kaczynski.
Unknown experiments. Though the CIA recently released its files on MKUltra, the documents are highly redacted and censored. The majority of the experiments conducted are still shrouded in secrecy. Many people who were victims of Project MKUltra have testified that they were subjected to sexual slavery.
The OSS. Projects MKUltra and Monarch were carried out by the CIA's predecessor, the Office of Strategic Services, or the OSS. The OSS researched weapons and other devices that could be used to the strategic advantage of the United States. Eventually, the OSS was dissolved and absorbed by other branches of the government.
Congressional investigation. In 1975, a congressional hearing was held wherein some of the details of MKUltra were revealed. It is believed that MKUltra was active from 1953 to 1973, with experiments conducted in various locations.
Universities. Research was conducted in multiple locations. Experiments were done at Stanford, Columbia, and other colleges. It is also believed that experiments were done in prisons without the prisoners' consent.
Other experiments. Some subjects were administered drugs that induced paralysis. Others were forced to undergo electroshock therapy. Various other dangerous drugs were given to MKUltra's subjects, including heroin, MDMA, and methamphetamine.
Operation Midnight Climax. Operation Midnight Climax was another experiment carried out under the MKUltra umbrella. Prostitutes employed by the government lured men to OSS-controlled facilities. The men would then be unknowingly given drugs. The effects of the drugs were monitored by OSS agents who sat behind two-way mirrors.

The Presidential Libraries Act of 1955 and the Former Presidents Act of 1958 fundamentally changed the way in which the government treated former presidents.
The Former Presidents Act was in large part a response to Truman's meager means when he left office. It established and funded a pension ($201,000 in 2014), a transition office, ongoing staff needs, health benefits and lifetime Secret Service protection. The act was fitting and appropriate. Its mechanisms and compensation were adequate for the protection and compensation of former presidents in private life.
By the 1970s, this compensation proved inadequate for some. [[[[[[[[[[Gerald Ford began the trend of cashing in on the office of the presidency]]]]]]]] through speech making, book deals and other methods. Ford, Reagan and George H.W. Bush proved capable in the effort by earning a few million dollars each, but President William Jefferson Clinton was in a class by himself.
Former President Clinton and his wife Hillary Clinton contended they were without substantive assets when they left the White House. With their combined personal net worth now estimated to be in excess of $100 million the Clintons have set a very high bar for future former presidents wishing to cash in on the prestige of the presidency.
The Presidential Libraries Act of 1955, a well-intended law, was to create a mechanism by which the personal papers, documents and communications of presidents could be properly archived for posterity. The "presidential foundation" is the organizational structure by which presidents build the private funds for their library and convey the archives of their presidency to government.
The modern day "presidential foundation" has morphed far beyond establishing an archival presidential library. These foundations state lofty goals.
